Our Purpose

Through Nurturing Touch Physical Therapy, I am proud to have the opportunity to offer private physical therapy services, supporting families and their infants' needs. Supporting infants and their families during such a critical time in their development is both a privilege and a calling. I am passionate about empowering caregivers with the tools, knowledge, and confidence to support their baby’s unique journey, addressing altered muscle tone, delayed motor milestones, torticollis, and plagiocephaly. My approach focuses on gentle, developmentally informed interventions that not only promote your baby's growth and healing, but also nurture the parent-infant bond.

I’m continually inspired by the resilience of babies and the strength of the families I work with. My goal is to offer not only expert care, but also reassurance, connection, and confidence to parents as they navigate their child’s early development.

Neonatal and Infant Massage

Nurturing Touch

"To touch the skin is to touch the brain." My training in neonatal and infant massage is rooted in neuroprotective, developmental, and family-integrated care. These techniques are designed to address tone imbalances, optimize infant development, and enhance bonding for baby and parent.

Baby Crawling

Developmental Skills

Facilitation Through Positive Nurturing Touch

Play-based exercises, gentle stretches, and environmental modifications help build strength, balance, and coordination. I guide infants through specific movements to help them reach developmental milestones like rolling, crawling, and sitting. And I empower families by filling their toolbox with home-based activities to promote healthy motor skill and sensory development.

Family Education

Parent-Child Bonding

All sessions include family education to empower parents in supporting their child's early development and promoting a nurturing environment. I also emphasize parent-child bonding activities to enhance the emotional connection and well-being of the entire family.

Baby with Mother

Torticollis and Plagiocephaly Treatment

Tackling Issues in Tandem

Torticollis is caused by shortened or tight muscles in the neck, causing baby to prefer to turn their head in one direction. Plagiocephaly is when baby's head has a flattened spot or is misshapen. Torticollis and Plagiocephaly often go together. Treatment focuses on addressing muscular imbalances and promoting optimal neck mobility for your little one, positively affecting head shape.

"I can't say enough good things about our experience with Melanie. From the very beginning, she made both me and my baby feel comfortable, supported, and truly cared for. Her approach was not only professional but incredibly kind and patient — exactly what you hope for when trusting someone with your little one’s development.
Melanie took the time to answer every single question I had, no matter how small, and never made me feel rushed or silly for asking. Every fear I had as a parent was met with compassion, reassurance, and clear, thoughtful guidance. She truly went above and beyond to ensure we felt informed, empowered, and confident throughout the entire process.
We are so grateful for her care and would highly recommend her to any parent looking for a skilled, compassionate pediatric physical therapist."
